My name is Bjorn Behrendt and I am a proud father of two wonderful girls. I created AskBj in college as a place for me to put links to the free programs I found. It has grown into what you see today. I have a bachelors degree is in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Business from Castleton State College. While my degree is computer based it was my work study job for the IT department that kicked off my career in educational technology. I was hired to be the technician but was also praised for my ability to make teachers feel comfortable with using technology and for exposing them to new applications and approaches. I have since gone back to school and currently enrolled in the M.Ed. Curriculum & Instruction program with a focus on Educational Technology through UVM. I am very much enjoying the coursework and hope to share my new knowledge through this site. During the day I work as an IT Coordinator for Mount St. Joseph Academy in Vermont. I have spearheaded their 21st century learning environment initiative which consists of 1:1 netbooks, interactive white boards, and training. I went back to my alma mater Castleton State College and now teach 2 night classes: Web Design, and Intro to Computers and Arts and Humanities. In additions to this I work with several grant and state funded projects including being on the development team of Vita-Learn.org, a technical advisor and trainer for the MSP Science and Technology grant, plus many others. Thank you for taking the time to browse my site. Bjorn Behrendt |
