Google’s Chrome browser, not only an alternative to Firefox and Internet Explorer, but much more. This session will take a look at Google’s Chrome Store and the numerous educational apps.  Then talk about it’s other advantages in the educational environment.

Google has come out with it’s Chromebooks which only have a browser installed.  While it is great it is not the only web-only operating system.    I will talk about two others that I plan to use at my school: Jolicoud & Splashtop

Due to many factors including cost and ready access, eTextbooks are becoming a very popular alternative to traditional printed texts. Beyond Amazon’s Kindle we will discuss where you access these and talk about the “Tricks of the Trade.”  During this session will I will showcase the resources I have found for digital textbooks online and share the best way to access these on-line.

It has been a great year and I am sure many great communications have happened, but it is now time to clean things up.  This session will cover the primary features of gMail including labeling, archiving and labs.  

Google Documents have undergone many great changes this year, including the addition of shared collections and an entirely new interface.   This session will cover the basic features of your Google Document List. and give some strategies for organizing it.

Screencasting is a great tool for education.  It can be used by teachers to create simple how-to style videos, or in the classroom with students to create narrated presentations.

Put new life and learning into your and your student’s presentations.   Prezi is a free, web-based presentation software that replaces slides with a single work area.  With Prezi you can now organize your presentations either graphically or by content.  Teach your students concept mapping skills while allowing them the freedom of design.  This session is ideal for teachers who are familiar with using slide-based software and now want to take it a step further.
